Please shield your eyes; my sunny face may blind you.‏

Once upon a time, there was this tall, dumb boy with a head the size of a dinner plate and legs like a little teensy kid and eyes that sparkled in the sun. And this boy, he was used to lots of things from girls. He was used to confused feelings and late night wonderings and the constant telling of what to change. No one ever seemed happy with just him and these girls made him feel like he was taking a long walk in a haunted forest with poison spiders and bumpy paths and a step in rancid dog poo. And then, one day, this fuzzy-faced boy met this moon-faced girl. She talked and talked, just like he liked, and she made him smile and show his big shiny teeth. She was completely different than anyone he’d ever known and all the little things that he teased her about he started to fall in love with. She had this strange effect on him that made him want to know everything about her. And she really listened to him. She asked about his day, about his opinions, about his feelings. She cared about him like no one ever had. He never had to wonder. She always told him how she felt, what she thought about him. This new feeling was like a big colorful rainbow on a beautiful sunny day with fat fluffy clouds put up in sky just so they could live on them together.

And this girl, she did everything for this boy. She made him happy, she made him feel sexy and smart and important, no matter how bad his day was going. She told him everything he’d always wanted to hear, and each word meant everything because she told him nothing but the truth. And this girl, she made this crazy little boy want everything with her. A whole baseball team of kiddos, a house up in the sky, hair brushes to share, and even a joint checking account. And one night, she promised him she’d be his ladybug forever if he promised to be her fluffy little boy.

He told her yes, and they knew this love was one that was gonna last longer than the dinosaurs and dragons and cockroaches that were still living.
